About you:
You are a highly productive and efficient engineer, and are seen as an expert in nearly all aspects of Fullstack development. You resolve the most difficult technical tasks related to this specialization. You know what works and what doesn't; you are innovative and have a vision for the future and have demonstrated you can work across teams in Product and Engineering to make your vision a reality. You mentor other senior engineers. You determine methodologies and procedures that apply across several teams, and set your own priorities based on direction from management. You communicate proactively and effectively all the way up to an executive level. You have strong technical design and abstraction skills and set the standard for technical designs in your specialty. You review the work of other senior engineers, and are often act as the lead between multiple teams. You demonstrate excellent judgment and use your expertise in selecting methods and techniques for developing solutions that are robust, reliable, testable, and maintainable from an operations perspective.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Write end to end software solutions using the latest SPA frameworks and Node.js backend services. You are experienced in all areas of the technology stack and the primary owner/expert of at least one major area of code. New hires are expected to gain this level of competency within their first year at DIG.
Work daily as a leader in an Agile environment with engineers from other teams, product managers, designers, and user research to solve the most complicated cross-team issues. You are an example for others of being a change agent, leaving every team and process better than you found it.
Practice test-driven development and maintain standards for unit and integration testing in your areas of specialization.
Lead the configure CI/CD systems to automatically build and deploy your solutions to cloud native infrastructure such as Kubernetes. Set the standards for security of deployed code.
Regularly deploy techniques and best practices for web development at scale, and advocate improvements with the team.
Mentor senior developers through code and design reviews.
Build software with a proactive operations mindset to simplify alerting and debugging of customer issues using tools like Splunk. Set the standard for on-call support rotations.
Lead the technical direction of your specialization through technical roadmaps and design reviews.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent education/experience.
8 years developing software for front end and back end systems including several of JavaScript, Java, C#, Python.
8 years working with frontend JavaScript SPA and state handling frameworks such as React, AngularJS, EmberJS, Redux, along with HTML5 and CSS.
8 years deploying solutions with backend frameworks such as Node.js at web scale, including related experience with cloud services platforms such as AWS, and relational \ non-relational databases.
2 years configuring continuous integration and deployment systems at scale, on Kubernetes or with containers, including ownership for security reviews.
2 years leading technical direction and design reviews for a major functional area of your business unit.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Hands on experience with native mobile (iOS/Android) application development or hybrid mobile application development
Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent education/experience.
